We’re starting to see IE10 installed on some of our Windows 7 workstations which I’m fine with , but there are some internal sites that don’t work well with it unless compatibility mode is enabled e. However, they don’t show up in GPMC under:. I only see options for Internet Explorer 7.

Did I miss a step? I’ve only ever used built-in GPO options before this. There seems to be little infor mation on how to manage IE 10 using R2 or Win 7. There appears to be a bt of a snag though as you will only be able to see and manage IE 10 settings on a Windows 8 PC or Server. This all may or may not be fully accurate but I can’t find a great deal of definitive information. If it is true then it is another example of the current bully boy attitude at Microsoft where by if you are not on the latest and greatest or buy in to their way of doing things, then frankly they just don’t care about you.

I have 2 windows 8 enterprise tablets with ie 10, I wanted to set up IE using GPManagment running on server r2, but I only see the Internet settings under preferences-control panel-internet setting for IE 5,6, 7 and 8. I’ll have to look into that IE10 editing kit? Dean, did you try pushing that compatibility view config using the GPO you mentioned in the post? We pushed compatibility view sites this way through our DC that is running , and our clients picked up the config without an issue.
